After a long day, the last thing I think about, or want to do, is to try to reprogram my brain. My mind has a tendency to go into neutral by then, and negative thoughts are starting to develop in my mind.
So for me, getting a good night's sleep is necessary to get any benefit out of a meditation tape designed to reprogram my brain.
As the purpose of meditation is to leave the world behind, I find what works best for me is to get a good night's sleep, followed by focusing on Dr. Dispenza's meditation tape, just as I am waking up.
I play it all night long. When I wake up in the morning, I carefully listen to his tape and reprogram my brain, while my brainwaves are still in a theta or alpha state.
I make sure to eliminate all environmental distractions, like the telephone, TV, pets, etc. I take any pills I require and make that last-minute bathroom break, and any other regular procedure I need to follow. I set the room temperature at a comfortable sleep level. I lie down as I normally would for a good night's sleep. I then turn on Dr. Dispenza's meditation tape called "Rising Water" and fully relax.
I chose this method of meditation because I have trouble shutting down my mind. By using the meditation tape, it forces me to focus on what Dr. Dispenza is saying, starting with the deep breathing exercises at the beginning of the tape.
As a result, my brainwaves automatically move from a conscious beta state to the subconscious alpha state, and then down to theta, and eventually to delta deep sleep.
As I wake up, my brainwave pattern is automatically theta, which is the brainwave pattern where my mind is the most creative and susceptible to removing those negative self-destructive survival emotions from my brain.
As a result, I feel totally refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of the day.
What a more time-efficient, and simple way to reprogram your brain?
There's no excuse, for you not having the time to meditate!!!!!
To reprogram your subconscious mind to remove those self-defeating survival emotions from your brain you need to bring your brain wave pattern down to the theta and/or alpha wave level.

It should be noted that in a 24-hour day, the brain automatically goes through all the brain wave patterns. When you are in the dream state, the brainwave pattern is delta. The wave pattern is almost a flatline. This is the brainwave state where the brain is removing the unneeded information from the mind, and the body is repairing itself.
The brain wave patterns are delta, theta, alpha, low range beta, mid-range beta, and high range beta.
Typically in a 24-hour day,you would start the cycle at the delta pattern, then move to the theta, alpha, low range beta, mid-range beta. When you go to bed, you move to low range beta, alpha, theta, and return to the deep sleep delta level. If, however, you are in the fight or flight emotional state, this is the high beta wavelength mode. Settling down to fall asleep can be very difficult, and the sleep can be very restless; but, listening to Dr. Dispensa's meditation tape will refocus your mind away from the day's events.
Because the theta and alpha modes are the only modes where the brain can get rid of the flight or fight emotions, then the easiest and simplest way to remove these emotions is to begin meditating just as you are waking up from the deep sleep delta mode to the theta mode.
Below is a meditation tape produced by John Moyer. For those of you who suffer from anxiety, and have trouble getting to sleep, this I believe is your answer. I had to take sleeping pills to get to sleep. Since I have been listening to this tape I no longer need to use sleeping pills to get to sleep.
